Well, here it is. My first published letter to the editor. It just goes to show - you don't have to be gay to stand up for homosexual rights.
Put some effort in, people! This is 2003, an era of acceptance, not bigotry!
PS - the newspaper censored my letter something serious.
I'm going to keep my response short because I may be at risk of going into a massive rant about narrow-minded folks like him. But you did good, and we all thank you for it. Good job at putting him in his place. It's sad that so many people are so bent on this topic, but usually the elder generation is the one that hold strong views against homosexuality. I don't feel right saying homophobic because you'd have to have a morbid and unreasonable fear of homosexuality to be branded that. But I'd definately call it bigotry!
I could kiss you -- my sisters gay and I always tell homophobes to back off -- just because your straight does not mean that you can't stand up for what you believe.
Man... I couldn't agree with you more.. I have to say this Rodney guy is a bit of an ass though... >.>
